History (इतिहास)

Durga Devi temple is very beautifully constructed on a hill, 11 kilometers away from Kotdwar town. It is said that in this temple Mata Durga appeared in the mountain. Going down, a cave of 12 feet has been made, in which a Shivalinga is established. And for the visit of Durga, you will have to lie down in the cave and close it. All the devotees from far and near are here to take blessings of Goddess Durga.

Before long, this place was also known as Jogi’s cottage. The cave which goes down to the cave, is in the shape of the circle, from which people from nearby villages used to carry fire. Joggi Baba used to throw stones on the path and set fire to it.

In this temple there is a statue emerging from the rocks of Goddess Mother and there is a flame of fire which is always burning inside the cave in front of Durga Mata’s Pindi.

Nature around the Durga devi mandir

In the cave of the Durga Devi temple is Shivalinga and Mother’s Pindi. There is a large crowd of devotees here in the month of Savan. The sound of the river flowing near the temple, and the huge rock climbing in it, brings relief to the ears, and the place is very beautiful surrounded by large mountains.

As soon as you get down to the Durga Devi temple, only after seeing the steps of the temple, Lizards will be seen as many as I have shown you by inserting images into my blog. This lizard looks very big to see but it does not do anything. There is no danger to the devotees coming to the temple.

As soon as Durga Devi goes to the temple, many big mountains are seen from the front of the temple, and the water flowing through the big rocks just below is shown very superficial. I will definitely show you all this through the picture.
